我在中国成长并在西藏高原上工作的经历导致了我对围栏的兴趣。我的论文研究试图将围栏与土地实践（社会方面）和普通郡羚羊（Antilocapra Americana）运动（生态方面）的运动（生态方面）连接在美国。我利用地理空间技术和生态建模来集成来自卫星和无人机图像，GPS跟踪数据和原位调查的多标标，多维信息。My long-term goal is to offer evidence-based information on the social and ecological impacts of barriers (borders/fences), and to eventually inform and promote interdisciplinary and context-based conservation practices on marginal land and communities (e.g. pastoralists/ranchers on rangelands).
