Tom Di Liberto warns about the costs of weather risks

April 25, 2014

Weather disasters can have devastating impacts not only on human lives, but on business bottom lines. The floods in Thailand, for instance, disrupted supply chains and hurt stocks. And in the U.S. alone, the two worst years for climate disasters cost a combined $270 billion.

At GreenBiz Forum 2014, Tom Di Liberto, a meteorologist withInnovim, discussed how important it is for businesses to take these climate-impacted weather risks into account. "Your best laid climate plans or sustainability plans aren't going to mean much if a bad weather forecast means a bad storm catches you by surprise," he said.
