Barbara Kyle
Barbara Kyle is national coordinator for theElectronics TakeBack Coalition(ETBC), a national coalition of environmental and consumer organizations promoting green design and responsible recycling of consumer electronics in the United States. Founded in 2001, ETBC uses legislative and grassroots campaigns to promote the concept of "producer responsibility," that holds manufacturers of toxic products responsible for taking back and recycling their products once consumers are done with them. Twenty-two states have now passed laws mandating producer responsibility for electronics, and many computer and TV companies now have national takeback programs in the United States.
Barbara has spent the last 25 years working as a campaigner, researcher, and manager for the non-profit sector, including community organizations, legal services, the University of California at Berkeley, the Service Employees International Union, and the California Labor Federation.
